Timothy Eckert enjoys a diverse career as a performer, composer and teacher. He has appeared with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Pasadena Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic, Camerata Pacifica, Jacaranda and Idywilld Chamber Music Festival. He has appeared live or in studio with Eric Clapton, Madonna, Frederica von Stade, Barry Douglas, Bjork, Elliot Smith and Alanis Morrisette. Past positions include assistant principal bass with the Kalamazoo Symphony and section bass with the Long Beach Symphony. He teaches at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music and maintains a private studio. As a composer, his music has appeared in a variety of programs on networks such as ABC, CBS, MTV, MyNetworkTV, Bravo, the History Channel and National Geographic. He holds a Masters degree from Indiana University, where he was awarded the prestigious Performers Certificate, and was part of the Advanced Studies program at USC. In 1993 he was part of renowned bassist Franco Petracchi's master class in Siena, where he was awarded the Diploma di Merito. He received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Western Michigan University. He has performed extensively at the Aspen Music Festival and at the Spoleto Festival, Italy, where he was principal bass of the Spoleto Opera. |
