COMMUNITY EDUCATION

ADULT CONTINUING EDUCATION

LA Opera can provide speakers and scholars, behind-the-scenes visits from LA Opera staff members and even recital programs. We are currently partnering with several organizations, including The J. Paul Getty Museum and The Huntington Library, to present adult education classes.

Classes may run during any time of the year. Fees vary according to partnerships.
For more information and availability, please CLICK HERE to contact us via email or call (213) 972-3157.

COMMUNITY EDUCATORS

Community Educators is a volunteer program of LA Opera, in collaboration with the Opera League of Los Angeles. LA Opera's team of trained experts addresses civic and social organizations, philanthropic groups, schools and library audiences throughout Southern California, free of charge. You may select a presentation on any opera performed during our season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, or we can customize a talk to suit your needs. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

Dates and Requirements: Community Educators will address groups of 15 or more people. For more information, please CLICK HERE to contact us via email or call (213) 972-3157.
Tickets: Free of charge.
Deadline: Requests for Community Educators are accepted throughout the year.

COMMUNITY OPERA

For the past six seasons, LA Opera has been honored to work with the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Downtown Los Angeles to present free, large-scale, community performances including Noye's Fludde, Judas Maccabaeus, and The Festival Play of Daniel under the baton of Maestro James Conlon. These community opera performances include singers, actors and orchestra members from the community, performing alongside professional singers and orchestra members from LA Opera.

For this season, in celebration of Benjamin Britten's centenary, LA Opera is reviving its successful production of Noye's Fludde. Conducted by LA Opera's Richard Seaver Music Director, James Conlon, Noye's Fludde will be performed at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, 2013. For ticketing information, please call Audience Services at (213) 972-8001.

If you would like more information about LA Opera's Cathedral Projects, please CLICK HERE to contact us via email or call (213) 972-3157.
