Mezzo-soprano Adrien Raynier is in demand as a recitalist, oratorio soloist and opera singer throughout the Southland. With LA Opera, she has sung in over 100 productions and covered six roles including Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro, the Third Secretary in Nixon in China and Mum in Britten's Albert Herring. She considers it a great joy and privilege to perform with so many of the world's greatest artists close to home in "Bungalow Heaven," Pasadena. Other operatic appearances include Carmen, Ulrica, Amneris, Rossweisse, Cherubino and Cenerentola. As Hansel, she entertained thousands of California children in Hansel and Gretel, pushing the wicked witch into the oven more than 400 times! She performs lieder, art songs, operetta and musical theater repertoire and has performed as soloist with many orchestras and community chorales in the West. She was featured with the Santa Monica Symphony singing Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde and appeared as the female soloist in Pablo Neruda's epic South American choral/symphony Canto General by Mikis Theodorakis in Seattle. She is also an active member of several women's musical organizations, a voiceover actress, a SAG and AGMA union member, and a USTA tennis player. |
