John Kimberling

Tenor John Kimberling is a true cross-over artist. On the classical side, his appearances have included solo appearances in LA Opera's world premiere of Drattell's Nicholas and Alexandra as well as operatic appearances in Il Trovatore, Idomeneo, La Bohème, Der Rosenkavalier, La Traviata, Dido and Aeneas, Amahl and the Night Visitors and L'Elisir d'Amore. Operetta engagements have included The Pirates of Penzance, Die Fledermaus, HMS Pinafore and The Mikado. In concert, he has been the tenor soloist in the Rossini Stabat Mater, Verdi Requiem and Beethoven's 9th Symphony. His versatility extends to the theater stages with performances in A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Forum, She Loves Me, Godspell, Death of a Salesman, A Streetcar Named Desire, Dark At the Top of the Stairs and The Glass Menagerie. He was also seen on TV in The Bold and the Beautiful and Diagnosis Murder. Appearances for the 2009/10 season include Mr. Clayton in the world premiere of Stephen Schwartz's new opera Seance on a Wet Afternoon at Opera Santa Barbara.
