In the 2008/09 season, Keith Jameson returns to LA Opera as Goro in Madama Butterfly, followed by his debut with Dallas Opera as Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro and a return to Lyric Opera of Chicago as Beppe in Pagliacci. Mr. Jameson will also add to his repertoire the role of Vasek in The Bartered Bride with Opera Boston, and performs the tenor solo in Messiah, with Boston Baroque and Winston- Salem Symphony.
Recent notable engagements include his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in Prokofiev's epic opera War and Peace, Monsieur Triquet in Eugene Onegin with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Pong in Turandot with both Atlanta Opera and Fort Worth Opera Festival, followed by the Novice in Billy Budd with Santa Fe Opera, for which he received critical acclaim, Valetto in L'Incoronazione di Poppea for his LA Opera debut, and Peter Quint in The Turn of the Screw at L'Opéra Royal de Wallonie. Additionally, he made his U.K. debut at the English National Opera as Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, sang Monostatos at the Madison Opera, and appeared in Carmen and Cendrillon with Santa Fe Opera.
Mr. Jameson has enjoyed a long relationship with New York City Opera including: the title role of Candide, Oronte in Handel's Alcina, Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, Pang in Turandot, Attalo in Rossini's Ermione, Tobias in Sweeney Todd and Ugone in Handel's Flavio.
Additionally, Keith Jameson has performed Tamino in The Magic Flute with Utah Festival Opera, Remendado in Carmen, Scaramuccio in Ariadne auf Naxos, Bob Boles in Peter Grimes, and Pong in Turandot all with the Santa Fe Opera, Pedrillo in The Abduction from the Seraglio and Flavio in Norma with Opera Memphis, Monostatos and Little Bat in Susannah with Indianapolis Opera, Beppe in Pagliacci at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Almaviva in The Barber of Seville with South Carolina's Newberry Opera. He sang the Lecturer in Argento's A Water Bird Talk with Musica Nova in Rochester, NY.
Also a gifted interpreter of Gilbert and Sullivan, he has sung Nanki-Poo, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, and Hilarion in Princess Ida with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players at Symphony Space in NY, the Filene Center at Wolf Trap, and also the Lake Placid Performing Arts Center, and Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore with Chattanooga Opera.
In concert, he has performed Handel's Messiah for the Phoenix Symphony, and in J.S. Bach's B minor Mass with the Berkshire Bach Society. Mr. Jameson sang in the world premier of Shiflett's Dora as Sigmund Freud and in the world premier of Martin's Beast and Superbeast, both with American Chamber Opera Company in NYC.
Additional opera companies and orchestras with which he has performed include New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Carmel Bach Festival, Brevard Music Center, Opera Theatre of Rochester, Rochester Chamber Opera, Buffalo Opera Unlimited, Opera Manhattan, Currents in Richmond, VA, and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.
