Costume designer Sam Fleming made her LA Opera debut in 2004 with Ariadne auf Naxos. Her costume designs have been seen at theaters across the country and internationally, including San Francisco Opera (world premiere of Dead Man Walking), State Opera South Australia, Houston Opera Studio, Skylight Opera Theatre, Texas Opera Theatre, Houston's Alley Theatre, Atlanta's Alliance Theater Company, Hartford Stage, Denver Center Theatre, Buffalo Studio Arena, Center Stage, Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Arizona Theatre Company, Georgia Shakespeare Festival, PA Shakespeare Festival, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre (Craig Lucas's award-winning Reckless). She designed more than 50 productions for Milwaukee Repertory Theater during her 14 years with that company. Ms. Fleming received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for the Dr. Seuss-inspired A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Westwood Playhouse. In New York, she designed the new musical Prince & the Pauper and has worked with Manhattan School of Music, the Pearl Theatre, Manhattan Class Company, Naked Angels and the Women's Project. On Broadway, she is the associate costume designer for The Phantom of the Opera. |
