Aleksei Dolgov

Aleksei Dolgov began studying singing at the Novosibirsk State Conservatoire in 2001, under the tuition of Rimma Zhukova. Then, in 2002 he became a student of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, where he studied with Zurab Sotkilava.

During his year at the Novosibirsk Conservatoire, he sang the role of Beppe in Donizetti's Rita, with performances in Novosibirsk and Nancy in France and the role of Volodya Gavrilov in Shchedrin's Nje tolko lubov, staged at the conservatory.

After relocating to Moscow, Mr. Dolgov joined the Helikon Opera Company for a season, with whom he sang the role of Pyramus in Pyramus and Thisbe by John Frederick Lampe in performances in Moscow and London. As a first-year student, he sang Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni, staged at the conservatory.

His operatic roles include Arturo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor with Patrick Summers in Moscow, concert performances of Argirio in Rossini's Tancredi, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte and Alfredo in La Traviata at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre in Moscow.

In April 2008, he will make his U.S. debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème with the Houston Grand Opera.
