Reid Bruton
Bass

Reid Bruton was a winner of the L.A. Opera Buffs and Pasadena Opera Guild vocal competitions. His professional debut soon followed in LA Opera's production of Salome. Since then, he has performed roles in LA Opera's Billy Budd, Carmen, La Traviata, Die Zauberflöte, Der Rosenkavalier, Rigoletto, Gianni Schicchi, La Bohème and in the chorus of more than 50 LA Opera productions. He is a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, with whom he has appeared as soloist at Disney Concert Hall on several occasions and will again this fall for the Mozart Requiem. This summer marked his Hollywood Bowl and Los Angeles Philharmonic solo debuts in a performance with Phillip Glass of his film score Koyaanisqatsi. Other solo engagements include appearances with San Diego Opera, San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Claremont College, Concordia Chorale, Ventura Master Chorale, Desert Symphony, L.A. Theater Works and the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. He can be heard on soundtracks of over 30 major motion pictures including The Matrix Reloaded, Spider-Man, King Kong, I Am Legend, Charlie Wilson's War, The Simpsons Movie, Star Trek, Wolverine, Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who, Night at the Museum and War of the Worlds (for which composer John Williams said "I've never written nor heard notes sung that low"!). He has also sung backup on solo CDs ranging from rapper 50 Cent to Andrea Bocelli and David Foster. Television credits include Dharma and Greg, The Wedding Belles and Family Guy.
