David H. Young earned a bachelor's degree from the Eastman School and master's and doctorate degrees from USC. He is a former member of the Rochester Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony, and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and is double bass faculty member at the Colburn School of Performing Arts. He serves as principal bass of the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, and he plays a bass of 1704 made by Florenus Guidantus in Bologna, Italy.
