Ron Daniels staged LA Opera's world premiere of Il Postino, subsequently presented in Vienna, Paris and Mexico City. He is a former artistic director of The Other Place Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company's experimental theater in Stratford-upon-Avon, and after 15 years directing for the Royal Shakespeare Company he was named an honorary associate director of the RSC. In 1991 he moved to the United States and became the associate artistic director of the American Repertory Theatre, in Cambridge, MA.
