British designer Bunny Christie recently designed the world premiere of Andre Previn's Brief Encounter for Houston Grand Opera. Among her awards and honors are the 2003 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for A Streetcar Named Desire and the 2000 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Baby Doll, both at the Royal National Theatre. She designed Kenneth Branagh's screen adaptations of Anton Chekov's Swan Song (1992) and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (1988).
