Soprano Tracy Cox made her LA Opera debut in 2010 as Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro. In 2012, she performed the role of Pisana in the season-opening production of Verdi's The Two Foscari at LA Opera as well as the role of the Second Lady in The Secret Kingdom, conducted by James Conlon at the Colburn School. The first-place Western Regional Finals winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she was named a finalist to compete in New York in March 2013. While spending the summer at the Music Academy of the West, she was named the 2012 winner of the Marilyn Horne Song Competition. She earned both her B.A. and her M.M. in Voice Performance from UCLA on full scholarship from the Gluck Foundation. Her many roles there included Medea in Cavalli's Giasone, the Older Woman in Jonathan Dove's Flight and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream. A former member of the Wolf Trap Opera Studio, she will return to Wolf Trap in 2013 to sing the role of Alice Ford in Falstaff. Click here to visit her website.
