Italian baritone Roberto Frontali made his LA Opera debut in 2004 as Count di Luna in Il Trovatore. Considered one of the leading baritones of his generation, he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in L'Elisir dAmore and at La Scala in Bellini's Beatrice di Tenda. One of his favourite roles is Figaro in The Barber of Seville, which he has performed at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, La Scala, Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera and in Rome, Venice, Ferrara, Genoa, Vienna, Tokyo and Nice. Recent and future engagements include La Fanciulla del West in San Francisco, Palermo, Dresden and Toulouse; Nabucco in Palermo; Luisa Miller in Torino; Macbeth and Simon Boccanegra in Santiago, Chile; Rigoletto in Venice; La Forza del Destino in Florence and with the Maggio Fiorentino in Japan; Ernani in Tokyo in tour with the Teatro Comunale of Bologna; Il Tabarro and Gianni Schicchi at the Theater an der Wien, and Simon Boccanegra at Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.(www.RobertoFrontali.it)
