During the 2011/12 season, tenor Matthew Plenk debuted at the Kansas City Opera as Ferrando in Così fan tutte and at the Virginia Opera as Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, and he returned to the Metropolitan Opera as Jenik in The Makropulos Case. A recent graduate of the Met's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, he has appeared there as the Sailor in Tristan und Isolde, Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor, the Song Seller in Il Tabarro and Marcellus in Hamlet. He has also performed with the Atlanta Opera and Boston Lyric Opera.
