Mexican baritone Alfredo Daza has appeared with LA Opera as Ping in Turandot (2002) and Marcello in La Bohème (2004). He has been a member of the Deutsche Staatsoper unter den Linden since 2003, with appearances as Prince Yeletsky in The Queen of Spades, the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, Belcore in L’Elisir d’Amore and Figaro in The Barber of Seville. He has also appeared with the Hamburg State Opera as Prince Yeletsky, the Count, Rossini’s Figaro and Sharpless. Other recent performances include Ford in Falstaff at the Teatro Communale in Bologna with James Conlon. In 2009 he debuted at the Glyndebourne Festival as Belcore in L’Elisir d’Amore.
